Well its Monday afternoon… yes I know I write my blog on a Friday but I am just getting a head start if that is ok!!!
The sun is out, shining warm and bright through the window near my desk…… oh wouldn’t a little snooze in the sunshine be nice, but maybe now wouldn’t be a good time….
So what’s happening this week….
Well Ronnie, my Support Worker has returned and I am keeping him busy catching up on 8 weeks worth of work, oooh he is so thrilled!
Disability Pride Updates
As you will be able to tell, the Disability Pride and Independent Living event 2018 on Sunday September 16th is taking up part of my time.
We had the latest planning meeting last week, and it’s amazing how enthusiastic everyone is in getting this event up and running, with loads of different stands, activities, productions, film and photography, and Martin on a cycle challenge to name but a few bits and pieces.
There are also new social media facebook, instagram and twitter pages set up, so you can watch as the event develops, and find out about all the things you can get involved in, or access at the event on the day.
So find us on:

As well as the main event on the 16th there will be a variety of events and activities going on for the week either side of the main event, so keep up-to-date with it all online and via Equal Lives.
And via my blog, our e-bulletin and news updates on our website.
If you are not yet an Equal Lives member and would like to receive our bulletins, then follow this link to join us today: https://equallives.org.uk/members/become-a-member/
I am off to Wymondham Access group for their AGM.
The group which is in its 3rd year has been very active in the Wymondham area and on Friday this week they will be looking back at their year and electing their new Committee, so I will tell you more next week.
If you live in the Wymondham area and would like to get in touch with the group, then you can email them on firstname.lastname@example.org
Deaf Awareness Festival
One of the first blogs I did was after we had had a stand at the Deaf Awareness Festival, and as we all know time flies. So much so, that we have now booked a stand for this year’s festival. The first flyer is out, so here it is and no excuses this year you have plenty of notice to pop along and join in!
Well I will leave it there as you all now have lots to do; joining us on all those social media sites, booking the events in your diary and planning what to wear and what to get involved in, so why not slice up that cake, put on the kettle and take a few mins ….
