Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I hope by now that you are all ready for the festivities ahead. Although I guess there are those who will be doing the ‘Christmas Eve‘ present dash (you know who you are!!).
It has been another busy year here at Equal Lives. I’ve enjoyed seeing and working with all of you and look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
Thank you to our groups who have invited me to their Christmas festivities. But I am sad that I have missed the ILG Christmas dinner and promised mince pies by Dan at the Norfolk M.E support group! It is great to work with you all. And I thank you for your warm welcomes, and appreciate your inclusion of me in your activities.
Through my work I have worked with some great organisations and individuals this year. It was also exciting to deliver the first of many Disability Pride events, with so many enthusiastic and dedicated people.
I would like to wish everyone I have worked with, ate cake with, chatted with etc. a very happy Christmas and New Year. If anyone would like to send me any pics of the cakes they eat over Christmas then please do – yum yum!
I will leave you with one great opportunity to have your say in the New Year and begin 2019 (see below)
My next blog will be on 11th January 2019. Look out for it!
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital – Help Improve Communication
Equal Lives is supporting the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) to gather feedback to ensure they provide access to their information, advice and services as appropriately and effectively as possible.
The NNUH is looking at the best way to ensure their communication is accessible and takes into account people’s differing needs.
For example: communications regarding appointments, face to face and non-face to face contacts, information leaflets/dissemination, reports and how they involve carers.
The NNUH would really welcome your views as to how they could do this most effectively.
A meeting has been arranged to discuss this further and to gather your feedback, ideas and suggestions.
The meeting will be held at:
Equal Lives, 15 Manor farm barns, Fox Road, Framingham Pigot, Norwich, NR14 7PZ
On: Tuesday 8th January 2019, 10am – 12 noon.
Tea and coffee will be available
The NNUH will be providing reasonable travel expenses for this meeting
Please do advise us if you have any access requirements.
Please let us know if you will be attending, by emailing me Penny Parker at email@example.com, by phone 01508 491210 option 4 or by post to the address above.
