Mandatory Reconsideration

I’ve been told that a client has recently requested a mandatory reconsideration by letter, only to have it sent back with the instruction that they had to use the new Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) form.  This is absolutely not true – see the website information here:  If this happens to you, please make sure you complain to a manager about this misinformation, and insist on your right to challenge any benefit decision in the way you choose.  You are entitled to request an MR by phone, by letter OR by form, although we would always recommend it is in a written form so that you have a record of what has been said.
